Time for another installment of my favorite series, Weird Exercise of the Day!
This weird exercise is my favorite way to teach a vertical pulling motion, like a lat pull down.
This is an easy movement to over compensate, try too hard, or have weird mechanics in. I find that the easiest way to get out of those patterns is to start moving the arms as freely and easily as possible, and allow gravity to start helping you.
Once we’ve started moving without all the extra tension, adding a little more effort becomes much more natural, and the pulling movement makes a lot more sense.
